I hate top ten lists.
Really, I do. Nothing irks me more than reading some self-important blogger tell me why he's decided this year's top ten movies. What inevitably follows are pages of comments either virtually high-fiving the author for his selections, or trying to explain why he's missed the most important movie of the year. Either way, something's missing here.
On the other hand, a top ten list can really say a lot about someone. Their choices in movies, music, books, politicians -- even their choice in list topics will start to give you an idea of what is important to someone. Maybe top ten lists aren't so bad after all.
Maybe they just need a little help.
